In Home Consults

How do I get started?

Send us a quick 3 sentence description of what issue you are needing assistance with. We will send you a questionnaire ranging from 20-40 Questions, as well as some availability dates and times.

How Many Sessions will it take?

We don’t have that answer, as really the dogs are the ones that determine that. At Grassroots Canine, we don’t force families to commit to a certain amount of consults, as we get life is busy. We go at a pace that works for everyone involved. We strongly believe that for every family and every dog is different. The Sessions need to cater to that.

What will you do in the sessions?

Depending on your answers from the Questionnaire, will determine how we approach the sessions. No 2 sessions are the same.

How much does it cost?

The First Consult costs $75.00 plus tax. All additional consults are $70.00 plus tax. Please note starting in January 2018, these rates will increase to $85.00 and $80.00 plus taxes.

  1. I have a slightly overweight female approx 5 years old. I would. Like a consult on exercise programs with your group.

  2. We have a 2 year old male boxer mix and would like a consult to help correct his behavior when he encounters other dogs. He reacts with extreme excitement and borderline aggression.

  3. My dog is a 14 month old Shep cross (or so he looks). I’m having a lot of trouble with walking him/having him pay attention to me as soon as he gets outside. We did an outside training class and it was difficult to say the least. As soon as he is in a distracting/outside environment he disregards me completely. I would love to be able to have him walk beside me calmly and follow commands off leash.

I’d love to know if he would benefit from private training sessions!

  4. Good evening,

Our pup is a 90 lb huskyx rescue that we adopted in March. She will be 2 in January as far as we know.

Up until recently, she was a happy dog that played well with other dogs and enjoyed parks. However during the summer she began getting aggressive with unfamiliar dogs we came across (is fine with dogs she already knows), and would forcefully go after the other animals. She has never broken skin, and it appears to be more of a dominance thing than anything else, but we’re not experts and are quite concerned, especially considering her size. We’ve done obedience classes and she responds well to all humans – just seems to be other dogs.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing back!

    • Sorry for the delay in response. I’m not sure what happened but this just popped up in my inbox, yet its dated from a couple of months ago. Yes so the way I do my consults is I have my clients fill out a questionnaire that is quite lengthy (~30 questions). Based on the answers is how I conduct my dog consults. The first dog consult is $85.00 and then any additional consults are $80.00. Is this something you’d be interested in?

  5. Our 2 year old American Eskimo/Bichon growls and lunges at certain visitors to our home and not just strangers. With other dogs she is unpredictable, either likes them or growls and lunges at them. She’s also very territorial and growls viciously along our fence line, especially at people waiting at the bus stop (from her growl, you wouldn’t know that she’s only 25 pounds, very scary sounding!)
